For a while now I have toyed with the idea of having my own blog. I read others with eagerness to hear what is happening in their lives. I'm not sure anything particularly interesting or earth shattering ever happens in southern new jersey where I live with my husband, 3 mostly grown daughters and 2 cats but here goes.
I think we are a fairly normal family and pretty darn lucky. We are genuinely fond of each other, although that doesn't keep us from laughing at each others' strangenessess. We do seem to laugh an awful lot and nothing is sacred. Pete (husband) and the girls are nominal Catholics and I am exploring other ideas and thoughts. Thus the title. I believe that our words and ideas have power and right now we all have to think peace.
I am an intermediate knitter who loves to learn new things. I have just learned to knit socks. I made one pair and am almost finished a second pair. I really like the process and although my girls all accuse me of being a member of a cult, they are clammoring for new socks. I work at a community mental health center in Phila and take the train to work. I hoped I could get a few rows done on the train but found out I cannot. I get car/air/train sick and knitting is as bad as trying to read. Anyone got a solution for this?
I am looking forward to sharing our lives and thoughts. I hope it will make me more observant to the world around me.

Getting car/train sick is the PITS! But would you get sick if you just knit, say, a plain sock that you didn't need to follow a pattern for?
Is it the reading that is making you sick, or would knitting do it too? Ick, I can't even imagine how you do it each day when it makes you sick!?
Welcome the the blog world, by the way!! Nice to have you ;)))
