Well, today it was back to work after a long (5 day) weekend. It was hard and I felt like I was spinning my wheels all morning. I am a social worker. I work as a case manager in a community mental health center. Even though the message on the voice mail said I would be out until today there were 6 messages. It took most of the morning to answer them and deal with the problems. I spent the afternoon working in a medication clinic with a doctor.

MRI results came back normal! The best news ever. I kept thinking it was nothing but it sure was nice to hear it from a professional. I still have an enormous bruise from the iv but that's normal for me.

Em and I found a great dress for her to wear to her formal and it didn't cost a fortune. We found it at tj maxx. I almost never shop there and was surprised to find something so easy.

I am going to start focusing on positive things in my life. I believe what you think on grows and I want more positive things. If you focus on on…
A partially sunny Saturday! Today promises to be a fairly good one. Prom dress shopping with my daughter and sunshine. I don't realize how much I miss the sun until we go without it for some time. I am truly tired of all the rain. There is a reason I don't live in Seattle.

We (my husband and I) had a date last night and went to see Fracture with Anthony Hopkins. He just gets better and better. Then a late dinner (late for us) and a trip to the bookstore. I indulged myself and bought Interweave Knits new sock collection. I guess I will have to learn how to use charts because a lot of the designs I liked have them.

My gift socks are coming along slowly. The yarn is german and very thin and soft. I need to learn how to post photos so I can document their journey into finishedness.
Well, we are back in the cold, wet weather again. The pictures on the televison news show flooded roads and basements. I think NJ is in danger of washing away...

I spent yesterday finishing a pair of socks for my daughter. They came out quite nice, made of Castleman's "under the sea" colorway. All pretty greens and blues. I started to work on a pair of Crusoe socks from Knitty's sprint 03 issue and so far they look pretty good. The only problem is that I want to finish them before June 2 because I want to give them as a gift.

I spent today at a school play as my niece's "special friend". It was great fun and afterward we did girlie things and got our nails done (french manicure for me, powder blue with flowers for her) and had lunch. It was much better than the day I had Wed, when I had to face the dreaded mri. They may call it an "open bore" but it was still a little small for me and my claustrophobic self. Now the long wait for th…
For a while now I have toyed with the idea of having my own blog. I read others with eagerness to hear what is happening in their lives. I'm not sure anything particularly interesting or earth shattering ever happens in southern new jersey where I live with my husband, 3 mostly grown daughters and 2 cats but here goes.

I think we are a fairly normal family and pretty darn lucky. We are genuinely fond of each other, although that doesn't keep us from laughing at each others' strangenessess. We do seem to laugh an awful lot and nothing is sacred. Pete (husband) and the girls are nominal Catholics and I am exploring other ideas and thoughts. Thus the title. I believe that our words and ideas have power and right now we all have to think peace.

I am an intermediate knitter who loves to learn new things. I have just learned to knit socks. I made one pair and am almost finished a second pair. I really like the process and although my girls all accuse me of being a membe…
