you are lightskyblue
#87CEFA

Your dominant hues are cyan and blue. You like people and enjoy making friends. You're conservative and like to make sure things make sense before you step into them, especially in relationships. You are curious but respected for your opinions by people who you sometimes wouldn't even suspect.

Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

I stole this from Joan who is away on vacation and used it as filler. I just thought it was interesting. I'm not sure what color I thought Iwould end up.

I just want to say something regarding televison because I made a comment on rosered's blog that caused some consternation.

It's true. I do not own a television and have not watched for almost 5 years. I know it sounds like we are Luddites but the reality is we have 5 computers in the house. There is access to information and entertainment whenever someone wants it. We didn't start out (nor are we now) anti-television. It was more of a gradual pulling away. The tv was never in a central location in the house. We wanted the girls to read books and entertain themselves. They grew up watching cartoons and other shows and there was never a limit on the amount of television they could watch each day. I love cartoons and would watch with them. We also enjoyed Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street and the Discovery channel and lots of movies. As the girls grew, they did more reading and less tv watching and when computers entered the picture, there was no contest. Why watch a static box when you could interact?

After a while, I noticed that I was paying what seemed to me to be an exorbitant cable bill to a company that I wasn't fond of for a service no one was using. So, I turned off the cable and when Em moved out last December, she took the tv with her. I can honestly say, I don't miss it. We watch movies on the computer monitor and I listen to recorded books on my mp3 player as I knit or I talk to Pk. We do a lot of interacting sometimes and others we are each lost in our own computer worlds.

I am not on a crusade to stop television watching. I only know what works for me. I hear about shows that people are enjoying and if I'm interested, I can get them on dvd and watch them at my leisure. I don't seem to have the compulsion to turn on the set and sit in front of it that I had when I was younger. I can't explain it but I know it gets an amazed reaction if I say it to anyone.

So, there you have it. One more weird thing about me.

I think that the TV/no TV thing is really a personal choice. I happen to love having the thing on if only for background noise, but that's just me. My brother and SIL rarely watch television and are happy as clams.

I say do what works for your family. Not weird at all.

We primarily watch sports and older shows. I could certainly do without cable were it not for my sports addiction. There are a few sitcoms we enjoy (2.5 men, How I Met Your Mother) but there's nothing I'm dying to jump into come fall.

Totally agree with sheepish annie. Life is all about making choices that are right with YOU. As long as you aren't doing anything illegal, it's nobody's business but your own! :)

I haven't watched TV since my husband and I got married, what, 20 years ago? (How can that be?!)

Like you say, with radio, TV, and now the internet, we certainly hear the news. And somehow the TV show catchphrases filter down to us, too. That's what I think is weird!

I love my television--but the more attached to my PC I get, the more I totally get how we could live without it! Funny thing about the television? We only get our news from comedy programs.

I actually think its cool that you don't have a telly. I'm not sure I could do it, but I think it's a great thing to be able to entertain yourself without it (and especially for kids too).

I like the colour thing. I was hoping I'd come out red but my color (pale turquoise) and description fits me, I think.

I know more and more people that are just getting rid of TVs...I spend way more time on my PC than I do watching TV, but I'm not sure I could get rid of it...yet....

My best friend growing up didn't have a tv. and still doesn't now, 30 odd years later.

The tv licence man would come knocking on their door and her dad would invite him in. He came every year and each year he had to search the place before he would believe that there was no tv on the premises...

I always have a tv on, but mostly for the background noise. I even leave one on during the day for my dogs while I'm at work. I figure it cuts down on them hearing outside noises and barking at people as they go by. They used to watch the Animal Planet channel, but one day I came home and pet surgeries were on the tv - way too graphic for my dogs! Now they watch the Home & Garden channel. No blood and guts and gore! :)

I could manage without a TV but my loving husband could not. I prefer no background noise myself but have learned to tune it out. I just spend way too much time on my computer :-)

We lived without a telly for the first three years of our relationship. We used to go to movies a lot. And read a lot more. We liked the silence in the evenings, or radio shows, or music.

Then we started watching DVDs through the computer and realised there was some quality television we were missing out on.

Now we watch it a lot but we are still hugely selective. Most of what passes for TV watching these days, we ignore.

Apparently, I am deep pink. One of the colors that fills me with loathing and horror. Figures, doesn't it? I have never watched very much TV, probably because you've encouraged us to read so much. When we all moved in together, I never once expected to have more TVs than people in the house, but we're slowly getting that sorted out.

DH is addicted to TV news, and uses most of the rest of the shows as tranquilizers while his busy brain works away behind the noise and action. I enjoy a few shows (dancing with the stars!) but could just as easily live without the box. But there's something pleasantly communal about sitting in the glare of the tube, shouting out the answers to Jeopardy with your beloved.

I too rarely watch TV. Because I live in a home with other folks who watch a lot of shows, we do have cable.

What show I do catch are onDemand when I need some noise in the room while sewing.
